Creamy Garlic Butter Salmon – This recipe is one of those recipes where it is easy to prepare and delivers high octaine taste for your taste buds. Because of the ingredients, this recipe is almost fail proof(if you do not burn anything ). Once you make this recipe you will most likely add it to your lunch or dinner meal rotation.

The king ingredient of this recipe is salmon of course which is a naturally healthy oily fish. It contains high amount of omega 3 fat. It always stays moist because of its fat content thats why it is almost always delicious.

You can use this recipe to impress your girl/boyfriends easily. It is tried and tested. 🙂 Lets get to work.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 21 oz (600 g) salmon filets skin on or off
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups reduced fat cream
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • Juice and zest of 1/2 a lemon

1- Heat oil a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon with salt, pepper and garlic powder all over. Sear in the hot pan, flesh-side down first, for 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking. Once cooked, remove from the pan and set aside.

2- Melt the butter in the same skillet. Sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Pour in the white wine or broth; allow to reduce to half while scraping any bits off of the bottom of the pan.

3- Reduce heat to low-medium heat, add the cream and bring to a gentle simmer, while stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.

4- Add the parmesan cheese and allow sauce to gently simmer for a further minute or so until the cheese melts and sauce thickens.

5- Add the salmon back into the pan, sprinkle with parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice. Taste test sauce and adjust salt and pepper, if needed.

Notes: After you remove the salmon from the pan. Do not clean the pan, let the sauce get infused by fish flavor as well. You can totally ignore the white wine if you do not want to consume alcohol.
You can also replace white wine with the kind of broth you want. It goes really well with a fresh, high amount of green salad. I prefer not to serve it with rice to stay a little bit on the healthy side. It is already fulfilling. You will not get hungry easily after this meal.
